Take me back to the 90’s

The world today has been drowned in madness. Things used to be so simple back in the day Where you’d have a birthday party, invite friends and family and also the family ‘photoo’ (photographer) to capture the moment. Today, we see people temporarily securing an entire luxurious apartment just for a photoshoot only to be posted on social media for validation. Wedding ceremonies have now become a business for decor facilitators, as the cost of decorating a single wedding venue alone could likely secure a quarter plot of land in the suburbs. You will find seven people seated in a room with all heads bent down and glued to their mobile devices. No one actually ignites and holds a verbal conversation. The era of validation from society through social media likes, views and comments. Where people fall for people who hide behind facial beauty enhancement filter applications through technology. Where virtual communication is more dominant than a physical one. Where courting/dating has only elapsed a little short period of 3-4 months and suddenly feel the need to finally exchange vows. Where divorce cases are hitting towering heights Where cheating is now normal and accepted. Where there are now ‘open committed’ relationships Where people turn to suicidal thoughts when the pressures from this cyber society becomes utterly unbearable. Where a man’s measure of success is his material wealth or fame. I could go on and but.... please take me back to the good old 90’s Thanks P.S: Louis

My first bicycle vrs my first car

So i was taking the old stuff out to the trash.  They were stuffed at the back of the house. As i slowly moved heavy objects,  i stumbled upon my old bicycle which was actually my first bicycle.

I remember vividly that day when i got it. Words can't explain the amount of joy gushing out of this 11year old boy. I'll ride it from Dansoman Ssnit Flats to the McCarthy Hills and other unknown neighborhoods i later discovered.  It was my best friend.

As a child, I was super weird. I'd walk miles away from home just to find peace and quiet to reflect on my life and what I'd one day become. So when the bicycle finally came through, I rode it to all those places. It was literally the epitome of envy for my friends because it was a mountain bike. A green 'Anza-Magna' mountain bike for that matter. My friends would go for a ride with it in turns everyday. This memory is set back to I think year 2001.

A few months back, August, 2016, I bought my first car. A royal blue 2008 Mazda 3 module. Sleek and sporty.
I suddenly had to pose my bicycle beside my first car and 'my oh my', I nearly wept out of joy for how far HE has brought me in this world. I have never felt so nostalgic as I felt this morning, and if the current 'me' would walk into the past to meet 'little me' and showed that young boy his car, I would move heaven and earth to know his reaction.

I'm just grateful. ☺
